Here, in this article, I have elaborated everything. So, you don’t have to face any problems. I have given the complete procedure for some different Nikon Cameras.

How to Change ISO on Nikon D90?

How to Change ISO on Nikon

In Nikon D90 you can easily find the ISO button which makes it very easy to change ISO values quickly. This is a great ease for photographers and beginners too.

Sometimes, the Auto ISO option cannot give you the best picture. So, many photographers prefer to manually set the ISO value. I have elaborated the whole procedure of changing ISO values in Nikon D90.

Before you start doing the procedure, first you should know where the ISO button is located. You can find the ISO button on the left side of the screen, second from below. Another thing which you need to know is the control panel. It is just given on the top of a camera as a small screen.

Now, follow the following steps to change ISO on Nikon D90.

  1. Press and hold down the ISO button.
  2. A circular dial is also given on the top-right side. You can increase or decrease the ISO from there. The Nikon D90 allows you to set the ISO values between 200 – 3200 but it also includes an additional lower value as L 1.0 – equal to ISO 100 and higher value as HI 1.0 – equal to ISO 6400.
  3. On the control panel, you can see the ISO values changing.
  4. Once, you get your desired ISO then you can leave holding the ISO button.

Note: If you set the dial to any value other than M, A, S, or P and select the auto ISO setting. When you will come back to these values the ISO setting changes back to the manual value you selected recently.

How to Change Nikon ISO in Manual Mode?

In Program, Auto or any of the Digital Vari-Program modes the aperture and shutter speed values are determined and set by the camera system automatically. As light levels change, the camera will change the shutter and aperture values to ensure the correct exposure. When it is needed to increase the ISO value the camera also adjusts it by ISO AUTO function.

To set into manual mode, you will have to set the dial to ‘M’. In manual mode, you will have to set the aperture and shutter values and if you enable Auto ISO, the ISO value will increase or decrease depending upon the aperture and shutter values you choose.

The procedure I have given here to change the ISO values in Manual Mode for newer systems and maybe for some old systems is just given below:

  1. Simply, press the Menu button.
  2. Go to Shooting Menu.
  3. Scroll down to ISO Sensitivity Settings. Press OK.
  4. Here, you can change the ISO value you want to choose if the ISO is not set to auto mode.
  5. Or simply you can turn on the AUTO ISO Sensitivity value which will help you too.
